Think you’ll see any of these records beat in your lifetime? Guess again. Check out our list of the 10 most unbreakable NBA records:
10. Chicago’s 72-10 season.
With Dennis Rodman joining the Chicago Bulls in 1995-96 season, the Bulls became almost unbeatable. Their 72-10 record is still at the top and the closest anyone has come is the same Bulls team that went 69-13 the next season.
9. Rasheed Wallace’s 41 technical fouls in one season.
In the 2000-2001 NBA season Wallace got called for 41 technical fouls. That’s one technical foul in every 2 games. Wallace’s career technical fouls of 308 is also at the top.
8. Jose Calderon’s 98.1 FT% in a season.
In 2008-09 season Jose only missed 3 Free Throws and took 154. That is an amazing 151-for-154 from the line.
7. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 career points..
With his size, skills, athleticism and that unstoppable skyhook allowed him to be the most dominating player in his time even at his 40s. The closest anyone has ever come is Karl Malone with 36, 928 points.
6. Mark Eaton holds the record for the highest career average of blocked shots with 3.5 per game.
At 7’4″, it’s not surprising he had the length to contend around the rim. In 1984-1985 average is absolutely ridiculous, as Eaton batted away almost six shots per game.
5. Bill Russell’s 11 championships in 13 seasons.
The king of the rings. In his 13 seasons career from 1957-69, Russell won 11 championships. The league expanded from eight to 14 teams during that.
4. Wilt Chamberlain’s 50.4 PPG season average.
It’s rare now any NBA player to go for 50 in a game. But in the 1961-62 season, Wilt did it an amazing 42 times in a single season. The closest a player has came is Michael Jordan, with 37.1 PPG in 1986-87.
3. A.C. Green played 1,192 straight games.
2. John Stockton’s 15,806 career assists.
1. Wilt Chamberlain’s scoring 100 points in a single game.
On March 2, 1962, the Philadelphia Warriors’ Wilt Chamberlain set the still standing single-game record for points by posting 100 against the New York Knicks in a 169-147 win at Hershey Sports Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania. In the third season of his NBA career, Chamberlain earned attention for himself and the league by making 36 of 63 field goals and 28 of 32 free throws. Only Kobe Bryant has came closest, with 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.
